Felona and Xander had a nice talk as they walked around Ubaur town. It was very pleasant and quiet, but was booming with tons of Pokemon merchandise. People all around chattered and gossiped about. Xander studied most of them and looked around. "So what brings you here anyway? Why did you come?" Felona asked. "I've come to challenge the gym leader. I want to take of the Pokemon League!" She giggled. "I should've guessed. Most trainers like to take gym battles onces they get here. Well, before I show you to the gym, why don't I walk you around?" "Sure but, how do you know this town well?" She giggled again. "I know this place...because I was born here!" Xander almost had an expressionless face. "That's something I didn't know." "Well, now you do!" She started walking again, Xander following her.

Xander exmained her. "She's pretty. I bet shes even better at Pokemon battles." She turned around and smiled. Why don't I take you to a cool place? you're Pokemon and you can relax there." Xander smiled and nodded. She took him to some soothing spa, which Xander relaxed and felt a bit tensed up in. "This is really great." he told her. She just sat on the side, letting her feet wave in the cool spa. Leafeon was at the side as well, licking its fur and watching what happened. Pidove and Ledyba flew around playing tag with each other. Xander smiled and looked over. "Hey Felona, why would you be so nice and show me around? We kinda just met, y'know....." "That's just me, I'm like that. I can trust someone as long as they trust me." Xander slowly threw his smile away. "I can tell." He looked away. "Somethin isn't right...shes now acting as if she knows me." He looked back to see her writing something down on a peice of paper.

"What you writing there?" He asked her. "Just a little something I do. When I see a trainer, I jot down notes in this book. It's so maybe I can have an idea of what their like when I battle them myself." Xander was now even more serious. "So...you wanna be nice to battle me, is that it?" He got up. She giggled again. "Well, duh! Of course. You and me could have a small battle. I wanna see your skills Xander. How good are you at battling? I'm a 4 year trainer." "Now hold up...whats this actually for? And whats that badge you got on your shirt?" On her shirt was a big letter, Xander couldn't depict what it was. She took it off and hid it. "Nothing. This aint anything but a badge. It's an A...A for admin. Admin of Pokemon recordings." Her face looked nervous. "If you wanted to battle, you couldv'e just asked." She got up. "Maybe later. I would rather see your skills in another battle."

Xander again, was confused. "Like what?" He asked. "Hmm...maybe...the gym battle?" Xander slanted his eyes, looking away, as if he was uninterested. "Riiiight...if you want to, just show me the damn gym. I've been waiting to challenge the gym for a while." She grinned and looked at him. "Alright, fine, I'll take you there..." She took out some sort of teleporter and out they went, outside the building. Apperently they were right in front of the building. Xander stratched his head. He looked at her. "....How did you do that?" "Oh, I just run this town. I'm the president of this town. I know where to go, this little teleporter helps me." Xander had another expressionless face. "Ok...another weird thing to know about her...." He said to himself. "She opened the door and walked inside, but watching Xander. "You coming?" Xander's eyes lit up, then he ran inside next to her. "So is this it? The Ubaur city gym?"

She nodded. "Yep! And whats gonna be even more humiliating is if you lose...it'll be to a girl!" "WAIT WHAT?! The leader's a female?!" Felona gave him a sharp look. "Yeah...whatever you do...don't lose to my sister." Xander fell. "OH COME ON! I find out its your sister?!" Felona laughed and picked him up. "Stay here..." She walked off. Xander grumbled and felt nervous. He never had been inside a gym before. A few moments later, she came back, then Xander looked ahead to see a small pillar rise, with someone standing on top. She had read hair, and wore almost completely red and black. Xander approached slowly. "So...you must be the leader, I suppose." She jumped down and stood up. "That's right. My name is Lunaine. Mmm...aren't you a bit of a cutie." She spoke. "AAAH! Don't say that! Rrr...you know what I came here for right?" She nodded. "I obviously do. You came for the flare badge, didn't you?" She held up a small badge, which had an F symbol on, surrounded by flames. She put it away and laughed.

"You'll only get it if you can beat me, and get this fiery hot test." "Feiry got test? Wait...are you trying to say that you're Pokemon-" His sentence was cut off. "-Are solely of the fire type." Xander then freaked out. "FIRE TYPES?! OH COME ON! I didn't know that...." Lunaine laughed. "You mean you didn't know? It's always been that way. Couldn't you see the torches on the wall? the lava on the sides? I control fire types. From the looks of it, I'm guessing you raise bug or grass types?" "Well, two of Pokemon are grass and bug..." Lunaine grinned. "Well it don't matter. A battle is still a battle, and here are the rules: We'll each use two Pokemon a piece. Switching is aloud, and the first person to knock out both Pokemon win, got it?" Xander nodded and stepped foward into the rectangle shapped arena. "Felona, you be the referee for this macth, ok?" Lunained asked. Felona smiled happily and stepped to the middle. "Are both trainers ready?" She asked. Both nodded their heads. Felona stepped back and put her hand in the air. "Then if both are set...the match may now begin!" Lunained pulled out a pokeball and threw it. "I'll start things off with a simple Pokemon. Go Charmander!" Out came a small Charmander, its tail brightly lit. Xander took out his Pokedex and pointed it at Charmander.

Pokedex info on Chamander: "The flame that burns at the tip of its tail is an indication of its emotions. The flame wavers when CHARMANDER is enjoying itself. If the POKÉMON becomes enraged, the flame burns fiercely." Xander then put it away and studied it. "Well, for one I know, I better not upset it. Oh well, go Pidove!" He tossed his ball and out came Pidove. It floated in the air and stayed afloat, flapping its wings. "Alright Xander, you ready to turn the heat and battle?" "I'm ready when you are! Lets go!" Lunained pointes at Pidove. "Alright Charmander, lets start things off with a flamethrower attack!" Charmander drew in air and blew it out at a fast pace. A clean breath of fire blew out. "Pidove, dodge and use quick attack!" Pidove launched itself at Charmander, dodging the flamethrower and smacking dead onto it. Charmander retaliated by knocking Pidove back. Xander smiled. "Man, thats one strong Charmander. Took the attack strait on but still went strong." Lunaine smiled as well. "Yeah, but this battle's just begun! you'll really get a taste of what a gym battle is like, its way different than a regular trainer battle."

"Alright Pidove, fly into the air and use gust!" Pidove swooped up into the air and blew a big gust of wind at Charmander. "Charmander, duck down and use ember!" Chamnader started to slide but kept its balance by digging its claws into the ground. It then shot small balls of fire at Pidove, striking it from the air. "Pidove, dive down and come in for a swift tackle!" Pidove dove down and tackled Charmander. "Grab it and throw into position, then strike it with flamethrower." Charmander grabbed Pidove and smashed into the ground and blew a flamethrower on it, ending itself into the air. "Now! Body slam!" Charmander went to go slam down but Pidove stood up quickly. "Air cutter!" Pidove shot two energy wing attacks at Charmander, striking it away. It was hitd, but it slid back before grabbing a hold of the ground again. Xander sweated again.

"I don't get it. Whatever attack I do isn't working. I can't gust it, can't quick attack it....not even air cutter works...wait...I got an idea! Ok Pidove, fly into it again!" Pidove dove down and flew toward Charmander. "you do know that type of knowledge wont work on me...Charmander, metal claw!" Charmander's body turned to complete steel and rushed toward Pidove. "Circle around it Pidove! Use double team!" Charmander stopped dead in its tracks as soon as Pidove surrounded it with a bunch of Pidove clones around it. "Smart move Xander, but I told you, something like that wont affect me! Charmander, use fire spin!" Xander was suprised. "What?!" Charmander spit fire out and it shot at the clones. It struck each one, but no dice. "Strike it to the wall with quick attack!" Pidove dove in as soon as it could get a chance and slammed Charmander to the wall. Charmander stratched at Pidove and knocked it down, as it did itself. Both struggled to get up from their fall, but Pidove stood before Charmander could. "Ok, finish it off with wing attack!"

Pidove aimed at Charmander and threw a big slash of wind at it, hittng it full force. Charmander fell down, dizzyness in its eyes. Felona put her left hand up. "Charmander is unable to battle, Pidove wins! Lunaine chuckled and returned it to it's ball. "Very good Xander, but now its time I use my best Pokemon. The one who's helped me through my training and has been my one partner ever since I started being a leader. Go Ponyta!" She tossed her ball and out came a very fine looking fire horse, Ponyta. Xander took out Pokedex and pointed it at Ponyta.

Pokedex info on Ponyta: A fire Pokemon capable of jumping incredibly high. Its sturdy legs absorb the impact of any hard landing. Its hooves are 10 times harder than diamonds and can trample anything completely flat in little time. Xander smirked and put Pokedex away. "Not for a 'first partner'. I'd use mine but I don't feel like it. Let's start things off with wing attack, Pidove!" Pidove dove at Ponyta and went to strike it, but Ponyta knocked it away with a big stomp of it's hoove. "Ponyta, fire spin!" Ponyta spit fire at Pidove and trapped it in a small fire-like ball. "Now, flamethrower!" It blew a flamethrower at Pidove, striking it, sending it flying. "Pidove, knock the flame away and use quick attack!" Pidove blew the flame away and dove in for a quick attack. The Ponyta was struck but the attack had little effect. "Don't let me down, use air cutter!" Pidove hit Ponyta with air cutter, which also had little effect, but still knocked Ponyta back. "Ok Ponyta, counter with stomp. One after another, lets go!"

Ponyta started to use stomp, trying to trample Pidove back and forth, It managed to dodge some but the Ponyta's speed was incredible. "Agility!" Ponyta dashes at Pidove and knocked it down. Xander then looked worried. "Pidove! Get back up and whirlwind it away!" Pidove opened its eyes back up and tried to whirlwind the Ponyta away, but the Ponyta stood its ground. Its hooves were sturdy enough to make it not move. Lunained laughed. "Xander, learn that this Pokemon is heavy. It may be an old Ponyta but it can still fight!" Xander was nervous and didn't know what to do. "Pidove, quick attack!" "Ponyta, knock it back." Xander was speechless. His attack was countered? Ponyta ran toward Pidove and headbutted it, sending it flying. "Now finish it off with flamethrower!" Ponyta drew a flamethrower at Pidove, striking the poor helpless bird where it stood. Xander was shocked and felt bad for his Pidove. Felona then held up her left hand. "Pidove is unable to battle, the winner is Ponyta." Xander ran over, his Pokeball in hand. "It's ok Pidove, you did good but you seemed worn out anyways. you take a good rest for this battle." He tapped Pidove with his ball and inside it went. He stood up and grabbed his other Pokeball. "I aint finished yet, Lunaine! I've got one more partner to use, and it's gonna win me the battle against you're Ponyta!"

"Then show me! Use you're 'last Pokemon' to 'win' against me. I wanna see what you got!" Xander grinned and tossed his ball. "Lets show 'em what we're made of, Ledyba! We can show that bug beats fire!" Out of it came Ledyba, the one that can withstand most fire attacks. Lunaine just laughed. "Oh thats priceless. Don't think that wimpy Ledyba's gonna do good against me!" "Don't judge it just because hes a bug type! We've done good together for a day! Ledyba, swift!" Ledyba shot star blasts a Ponyta, knocking it down. "Ponyta, flamethrower!" Ponyta shot a flamethrower at Ledyba. "Ledyba, block it!" Ledyba put its arms up and blocked the fire. The fire struck Ledyba, knocking it back a bit, but Ledyba managed to stay strong against it. "Ledyba, duck under and tackle it!" Ledya threw the flame above it and flew into Ponyta, smacking it in the face. "Rrr...Ponyta, use Stomp!" "Counter it with Double kick!" Ponyta went to go stomp Ledyba, but Ledyba hit its Stomp with one kick, then kicked back.

"Ponyta jumped back and then leaped at it again. "Fire spin, then knock it down!" Ponyta wrapped Ledyba around in fire and then tackled it to the ground. Ledyba tried to stand up, but it almost fell. "Ledyba, don't give up. you've been in battles against fire Pokemon before, I know you can win this one!" Lunained felt a bit annoyed. "I can tell you one thing, you were right about the Ledyba being strong against fire attacks. It's one strong partner you got, but Ponyta is still tougher! Hit it with a Body slam!" Ponyta went to Body slam the helpess Ledyba. Bang! Back flew Ledyba as it crashed into a wall. "Oh no! Ledyba!" "Finish it off with flamethrower!" Ponyta shot a flamethrower at Ledyba. "Ledyba! Dodge it!" Ledyba barely dodged the flamethrower, but was still struck on its legs. "Ha! Nice dodge. I didn't think it'd escape in time. But still, this battle is over. Use flamethrower one more time!" Ponyta went to go strike it again with another flamethrower. "Oh god no...dodge it...please dodge it Ledyba!" The flame drew closer. the battle would be over if it was struck once more.

"Please..Ledyba...DOOOODGE IIIIIT!" The scream made Ledyba's eyes open and its antennaes perk up as it held up its hand and a green shield went around it. Ledyba had just learned protect. But soon after the shield faded away, Ledyba began to glow. Xander was excited. "No way. It can't be!" Lunained was shocked to. "It can...Ledyba is evolving!" It was true. Ledyba was evolving into Ledian. It looked much bigger, has 4 arms and two legs, eyes were fully black, and now it was much stronger. It then rushed toward Ponyta and struck it with some sort of white powder that sent it flying into the wall. Ponyta could barely stand. Xander took out his Pokedex and aimed it at Ledian.

Pokedex info on Ledian: It is said that in lands with clean air, where the stars fill the sky, there live many LEDIAN. For good reason, they use the light of the stars as energy. When more stars appear at night, the patterns on its back grow larger. Xander put it away and smiled. "That attack must've been Silver wind...alright, strike it again!" Ledian spreaded the same white powder at Ponyta. "Ponyta, use flamethrower!" The flame shot from Ponyta shot through the Slver wind and struck Ledian, knocking it back but not strong enough to knock it out. Xander was even more ecstatic. "Alright, I've got myself an unbeatable Ledian!" "Just because it can withstand fire attack doesn't mean its unstoppable, Xander! Remember you still have to beat Ponyta to get that badge!" Xander had a big smile. "Well, I guess I'll have to just do that then! Let's get ready to win Ledian!" "Don't give up on me Ponyta! We'll be then ones to win this!"
